I had the privilege of sitting in on Calley Bliss‘s recording session last week in Minneapolis. I loved watching how the harmonies and background were all mixed in.

I’m a little slow in getting these photos on my blog. Images from Augsburg’s 7th Annual Powwow, March 28. I covered this event for the Twin Cities Daily Planet, so you can see more images there.

Our family went on an adventure to Puerto Rico this February. The kids and I planned the trip as a surprise for Michael, my husband. He knew were going somewhere, but (mostly) didn’t know where. Beautiful! More photos are here.

Another amazing, beautiful May Day celebration by Heart of the Beast Theater and the people of Minneapolis. A sunny and perfect day made it extra spectacular. More May Day photos.

little poetry library, originally uploaded by jenniferlarson.

My friend Carolyn Williams-Noren got a grant to help create the Little Poetry Library, which is outside of Blue Moon Coffee Shop on Lake St. The grand opening for it was on Sat., and here’s Carolyn with her golden scissors just after cutting the ribbon to open it.

Just FYI, the artist that did the beautiful collage on the library needs to do some more weatherproofing of the library, so it won’t be open just yet.

Seward folks from the history committee, who were educating us about the history of our fine neighborhood at the King’s Fair festival. (Used to be a large state fair held in this part of the neighborhood many years ago.)

winged migration, originally uploaded by jenniferlarson.

I photographed my friend Emily’s dance class at Dodge Nature Center. This dance is one Emily choreographed to music from the movie Winged Migration, the dancers are birds in the dance. Love that I caught an actual bird in this one.

birthday chair, originally uploaded by jenniferlarson.

Our friend and upstairs neighbor turned 8 today, same day as our National Night Out party. It’s an Israeli tradition to have the birthday person sit in a chair and have everyone lift them once for each year. (The bike helmet was for biking riding in the street, not concern for a crash from the chair lifters.) Soon after, the rain started and there was much puddle jumping.
