I brought my camera and gear, all set for a photographic day at the Heart of the Beast May Day parade and festival. Pulled out my camera at the parade . . . and my battery was dead. Extra battery in my camera bag at home. So. I had my phone camera, and I enjoyed the day, just snapping a few photos. A beautiful day. I love my city.

My husband and I were biking to meetings downtown and came across a parade to kick off Minnesota American Indian month.
One funny story about the parade. There weren’t many people watching along the part of the route we were on. One of the people in the parade said to us, “could you tell someone up front that they’re going too fast?” I’m not the kind of gal who would be inclined to stop a parade. I said yes rather hesitantly. But then when we passed the people in front, including this guy who was heading up the parade, I told them the people in back said they were going too fast. So they stopped to wait. I stopped a parade.
